Wooden Butter trencher
Traditionally butter pats would have been used in pairs to shape hand churned butter in farm dairies.
The grooved nature of the wood on this Beggars' Velvet beech trencher makes it a perfect butter dish, it not only looks beautiful but is extremely practical too.
Each is laser branded in South London with BUTYRUM using a type form made from our antique brass lettering tools.
BUTYRUM - Latin of butter which derives from Greek βούτυρον (bouturon)
Made from Beech wood each is hand oiled and finished with a leather tye and labelled in our Peckham studio.
